Rundemanen

Rundemanen at 568 meters is the second highest of the seven mountains.

About Mount Rundemanen

Mount Rundemanen (568 m) is easy recognizable because of the 106 meter high mast at the top. Rundemanen is part of the same mountain massif as Ulriken and Fløyen. On the 7-mountain hike, Rundemanen is the second-to-last mountain you'll cross. From the top, there's a nice view towards Ulriken, Vidden, and the islands west of Bergen. Rundemanen is an easy route to hike, and a round trip typically takes 3-4 hours, depending on the starting point and your fitness level.

How to get there

Rundemanen is part of a bigger mountain range, and you will have to start by walking to the top of mount Fløyen or Mount Sandviksfjellet.

From the city centre there are different routes to get to the start of the Rundemanen hike.

Option 1: Fløyen

Take one of the trails to Mount Fløyen and from there follow the foothpath to Brushytten. There are post signs all the way. From brushytten you take to the left towards Rundemanen.

Option 2: Sandviksfjellet

You can also reach the top by first walking to Mount Sandviksfjellet

Option 3: Fløibanen funicular

If yu want to skip the first ascent from the city center, you can take the Fløibanen Funicular to Mount Fløyen and walk from there.

Option 4: From Jordalen (Eidsvåg)

If you are feeling a bit adventurous and want the path all to yourself, take the bus to E39 Eidsvåg and walk from there (about 2.6 km on tarmac). The hike starts in a lovely cultivated landscape with mown fields, crop acres still in use and old stone walls, before the ascent to Rundemanen. There is a bus route to Jordalen from Eidsvåg turning point, but check Skyss Travel Planner, since departure times are not very frequent.

You can also reach Rundemanen by doing the Vidden hike, starting from Mount Ulriken.
