Student budgets are not known for having a lot of extra padding for dining and drinking out. It is undeniably more economical to buy groceries and cook at home, rather than frequenting restaurants, cafés, and bars. This is true anywhere, but it may be especially true in Norway. Nonetheless, most students like to go out, at least occasionally, and get something that hasn't been prepared at home.
