University of Bergen
UiB is an internationally recognised university established in 1946
The University of Bergen (UiB) is the second oldest university in Norway and an international research university with major interdisciplinary width. The university is located in the middle of Bergen, and has been involved in shaping the history of the city.
Around 2000 of UiBs students are international students. PhD candidates are paid emplyees, making the doctoral degree at UiB particularly attractive for rising talent.
UiB has a University Library with departments at all faculties, who collect and make available information for research, education, teaching and dissemination. There is also a University Museum with some of the largest collections within cultural and natural history in Norway.
